GRAND OPENING 2020/08/01 – Following our Kanazawa opening last month, AJ INTERBRIDGE INC. is excited to annouce the newest machiya holiday house opening, part of our MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN Kyoto brand (Private Machiya Holiday House).

Conveniently located in downtown Kyoto, and a 6-min. walk from Shijo Station is the traditional machiya house, ‘Tasokare’.

Evoking the atmosphere of the Heian period in Japan, a time noted for its culture that prized beauty and elegance, ‘Tasokare’ machiya house features rich vermillion hues, and refined designs loved by Heian aristocrats. This traditional Japanese house also takes inspiration from its location, a place mentioned in the literary classic ‘The Tale of Genji’, written by Japanese author Murasaki Shikibu.

‘Tasokare’ features a spacious living-dining room area, kitchen, 2 Japanese-style rooms, Western-style bedroom, full bathroom, shower room, private tsuboniwa garden, and updated facilities to accommodate the needs of our modern guests.
